Connecting Multiple PC's to the Internet with a Single TCP/IP Connection

Good news! It is possible to connect multiple PC's to the internet using a single Internet connection whether it is a dial up, DSL, Cable or other high speed connection. This is accomplished by using software that will manage the connection and multiple requests to access it simultaneously along with an ethernet network. Software is available for the following platforms:

Windows95/98/NT/2000

DOS/Windows 3.1

Firewalls

  • A more sophisticated approach, and a MUCH more secure one, is to implement a hardware based Firewall which employs NAT. You can see a complete step by step account of the implementation of our personal Home Firewall here.
